Schedule for all participants (core components)
After the application deadline, we will try to find a complementary buddy for you in a matching and will establish the contact. As a local student, you additionally attend an initial training to prepare for your task as a peer-tutor.
At the beginning of the semester, all participants get together in a kick-off meeting. Here, at the latest, you will meet your buddy. Additionally, we recommend you to attend the Orientation Days in advance, organised by the International Office.
Throughout the semester, you arrange regular meetings with your buddy for individual peer-tutoring sessions which you plan independently (8 to 12 hrs overall, depending on degree programme). For example, you can prepare or wrap-up course contents, discuss tasks or texts, or prepare for exams. At least half of the overall time of your meetings, you should work on study-related or subject-specific topics; the remaining time may also be used for cultural or other activities. You keep record of these meetings with the session list.
About halfway through the programme, you will again meet the other participants in a joint reflection meeting in which you exchange views, reflect upon your experience, and discuss your progress and challenges.
In a final meeting at the end of the semester, you will have the opportunity to share your ideas and review the programme. For all peer-tutors, an ensuing feedback panel will take place.
At the end of the programme, you write a concluding report which you need to submit, along with your “Buddy-Pass” and the session list, to the project coordination until the indicated deadline.
The exact schedule of the programme is different for local and international students. For details, please see the following paragraphs.
